Date night down in Refshaleøen, an industrial, edgy water-front part of town. Reminds me of Red Hook in Brooklyn or the Dogpatch in SF. It was a bit out of the way (meaning it took us a half an hour to track down a taxi) but it was nice to stay out late (the sun doesn’t set until around 10!) and have some adult time together. Theo had fun at home with a babysitter we found through a connection back home. We lucked out as I’m fairly certain Mary Poppins was based on her. She reported back that Theo was delightful in every way and went down without a peep. I guess it’s true that kids behave better for others than they do for their parents! One big reason for this trip was to have more family time – but I think occasional breaks are good, too, for all of us.
